The Black Eyed Peas bump Hampton concert to Feb. 22 Jan

Turns out that Fergie, Will.i.am and friends bring their “Boom Boom Pow” to Hampton in February, not January.

Concert promoters AEG announced today that the Black Eyed Peas concert at Hampton Coliseum has been bumped from Jan. 19 to Feb. 22 due to “unforeseen scheduling conflicts.”

Promoters didn’t elaborate on those conflicts and folks at the Coliseum said they’re not sure what happened.

“I have no idea,” said Coliseum director Joe Tsao. “They just changed the date.”

The shift means the local date will carry less national significance. Originally, the Hampton performance was to act as a warm-up for the group’s full tour beginning Feb. 4 in Atlanta. Instead, the rescheduled date will be wedged between shows Feb. 20 in Charlotte, N.C., and Feb. 23 in Washington, D.C.

The press release issued Tuesday said that all tickets purchased for the Jan. 19 date will be honored for the Feb. 22 show.

Additionally, tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000, Ticketmaster Express at 866-448-7849 or online at Ticketmaster.com. [Source]

‘We’re very blessed,’ Fergie says before the group heads to the bowling alley.

On Wednesday night, the Black Eyed Peas earned more Grammy nominations — six — than anyone not named Beyoncé, Gaga or Taylor, which shouldn’t really have come as a surprise, considering they’ve dominated the singles chart with historical prowess this year.

But, as it turns out, they were surprised to hear their name called in categories like Record and Album of the Year — and humbled too — as they told MTV News immediately following the Grammy Nominations telecast.

“This is a blessing. We’re very blessed,” Fergie said. “The thing is, we’re still hungry, we’re still working hard … and all of the work we’ve put into it just makes us appreciate it more.”  … read more »

The E.N.D. World Tour 2010 kicks off February 4 in Atlanta.

The Black Eyed Peas haven’t reached the E.N.D. yet. The group just announced the stops for their first tour since 2006. The 100-date trek, called The E.N.D. World Tour 2010, kicks off in February.

The tour will start on February 4 at Philips Arena in Atlanta and will be produced by AEG Live. The North American stretch of the tour ends April 11 at GM Place in Vancouver, Canada. The crew will then play dates in Europe and the U.K. According to the press release, the tour will have several “green” elements, in addition to a charitable element, that will be announced in the future.

“AEG Live has always been a company that likes to execute out-of-the-box ideas. Our newest clients, the Black Eyed Peas, have defined that concept like no other group in contemporary music and culture,” Randy Phillips, president and CEO of AEG Live, said in a statement. “We expect our first hundred shows together to be a roller-coaster ride that will redefine the live entertainment experience as only the Peas can.” … read more »

Black Eyed Peas Take The Throne At American Music Awards Nov

‘The new kings!’ Will.I.Am shouts from the stage during an energetic performance.

The Black Eyed Peas have dominated the Billboard charts for the majority of the year and, on Sunday at the American Music Awards, they took the stage for their coronation.

The Peas performed a duo of their chart-topping hits — “Meet Me Halfway” and “Boom Boom Pow” (strangely, they left out the massive “I Gotta Feeling,” which sat atop the Hot 100 for a record-setting 26 weeks) — during the AMAs, strutting, posing and letting the audience know that they really were royalty.

They started with a clubby take on “Halfway,” augmented by turntables, keyboards and, oddly enough, Will.I.Am’s keytar (and his outfit, which could casually be described as “Intergalactic Elvis,” complete with space boots, rhinestone coat and, yes, a pompadour wig). Fergie purred her way through the opening notes, and the performance spilled out into the aisles, as Tabu spit his verse standing next to fellow AMA performer Adam Lambert (whom he also high-fived). … read more »

After heating up the charts with their #1 hits “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling,” the Black Eyed Peas will provide the soundtrack for the annual “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.” The Peas will be the sole musical guest for the event.

The holiday runway show will feature Victoria’s Secret Angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Marisa Miller, and more, along with interviews, model profiles, and behind-the-scenes look at the makings of the most-watched fashion show each year.

Along with musical performances by the “Meet Me Halfway” singers, also set to appear is the Victoria’s Secret Harlequin Fantasy Bra. Miller will adorn the bejeweled bra, which features a rare brown-yellow diamond, designed exclusively by Italian jeweler Damiani. The Harlequin Fantasy Bra is valued at $3 million.

“The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” featuring the Black Eyed Peas’ first appearance on the show, airs Tuesday, December 1st at 10pm ET/PT on CBS. [Source]
